Scott County Auditor Reminds Davenport Voters In-Person Early Voting Begins Today for the October 10 Davenport City Primary Election DAVENPORT – Scott County Auditor Kerri Tompkins reminds City of Davenport voters they can begin casting their ballot today at the Scott County Auditor’s Office on the first floor. “Absentee ballots are ready and available for the Davenport City Primary Election,” said Tompkins and “Since there is a mayoral primary, every eligible voter in the City of Davenport can vote.”

Scott County Auditor Kerri Tompkins announced today the Candidate Guide, (www.sos.iowa.gov/elections/clerkssecretary) is available via the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office for the City-School Election this fall. “I encourage candidates to turn in their packets early in the filing period to allow time for any concerns. We also have great resources linked to our website (www.scottcountyiowa.gov/auditor/candidates), including a video that explains how to review the full process with specific details,” shared Tompkins.

Scott County Auditor Kerri Tompkins wants voters to know a statewide mailing will be released this week to keep the voter registration list updated. If you did not vote in the last general election, and have not reported a change of address, name or party affiliation, state law requires this notice be sent and for your voter registration be made “inactive.” To stay active, simply return the notice (follow the directions) with paid postage and you will be made “active.” If you get a card at your address, but it is not you, simply disregard the mailing. “No Activity Notice postcards are a great tool to assist us in maintaining our voter registration list and is required by Iowa Code 48A.28,” she said.
