Academic Search Premier (EBSCO): Full-text academic journals covering the major areas of academic research.

Accelerated Reader Bookfinder: Search for books by AR level, Lexile level and more.

Ancestry Library (in library only): Records from the United States census, U.S. Military, court, land and probate records, vital and church records, passenger lists and more.

Biography Reference Center (EBSCO): Includes biographies from American National Biography, Biographies Today, Encyclopedia Britannica and more.

Black Freedom  (Proquest): Primary sources on the challenges and triumphs in the pursuit of equality.

Brainfuse JobNow/VetNow: A comprehensive resource for job seekers including resume builder and live resume/interview help via chat.  Also includes practice tests for college students and adult learners.

CMS.gov : Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is a government run agency providing health information to the public.

Consumer Health Complete (EBSCO): Information on health issues for the public and professionals.

Consumer Reports (EBSCO): Search within the archives of Consumer Reports from 1985 to the present.

Directory of Open Access Journals : DOAJ is an online directory that indexes and provides access to high quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals.

Driver’s Education: Free DMV practice tests tailored to the state of Iowa.

EBSCOhost Research Databases (EBSCO): Search across all EBSCO databases provided by the Scott County Library System. You will need to select your databases after clicking the link.

Food America: contains recipes in all course categories (appetizers, soups, salads, breads, main courses, side dishes, desserts, and beverages) for six US regions, all 50 states, and 33 ethnic cuisines. 

Foundation Directory Online (in library only): Search for grants and find grant-makers.

Freegal: Download or stream music.

HelpNow tutoring:  Free online tutoring for students.  Also includes practice tests and a writing lab.

Heritage Quest Online: Collection of research materials for tracing family history.

Hobbies and Crafts Source (EBSCO): Help for arts & crafts, collection, gardening and more.

Iowa Agriculture History Collections: A compilation of historical resources related to Iowa farms and communities by the Iowa Department of Culture.

Lexile: This website explains the Lexile measurement used by some public schools and allows you to search for titles within a specific Lexile range.

Local History Resources: A collection of websites and online collections for those interested in local history.

MasterFILE Premier (EBSCO): Full-text magazines, reference books and primary source documents. Includes an extensive image collection containing photos, maps and flags.

Medline Plus: Free health information from the National Library of Medicine.

North Scott Press: Search the archives of the North Scott Press online.

Olive Tree Genealogy: A great place for beginners to learn how to research and also includes links to various sites with free information.

People's Law Library of Iowa: This website includes information on legal topics such as consumer law, family law, and landlord/tenant law, as well as guidance on researching legal issues, a glossary of more than 100 legal terms, and more.

Purdue OWL: Find APA and MLA style guides along with writing guides and more from Purdue University.

RiverShare Catalog: Find books, movies, music and more from area libraries part of the RiverShare system.

RiverShare's Libby by Overdrive: Check out ebooks and eaudiobooks.

RiverShare Overdrive (Academic): Check out ebooks on academic topics including nursing and vet tech.

Rock Island County records: Vital records from Rock Island County Illinois including birth, marriage, and death records.

Scott County Cemetery Search: A growing index of names in rural Scott County cemeteries. Search by name, date, cemetery and/or military service.

Scott County Gen Web: The Scott County segment of the U.S. Gen Web project. Includes information on local cemeteries, obituaries, newspapers, marriage records, biographies and more.

Transparent Language: Dozens of languages in a mobile friendly platform. You will need to sign up for an account and choose a username and password before getting started.

University of Iowa Consumer Health Guide: A comprehensive free listing of health and wellness resources.

University of Iowa Patient Wellness: Free, quality health information compiled by health sciences librarians at the University of Iowa.
